US Midwestern Sectional Championships

Senior Pairs (all qualify to nationals)
Molly Aaron/Daniyel Cohen: They placed 9th at nationals last season.  They placed 5th as juniors in 2009.

Becky Bereswill/Trevor Young: She placed 13th at nationals in singles last season.  She won 2 silver medals on the Grand Prix before winning the Grand Prix Final in 2008.  He won sectionals last season before placing 12th at nationals with his former partner. 

Lisa Moore/Justin Gaumond

Senior Men
Jason Brown: He won sectionals last season as a junior and is the reigning Junior National Champion.  He finished 6th and 2nd at his two Junior Grand Prix assignments this season.  He is the 2009 Novice National Bronze Medalist, 2008 Intermediate National Silver Medalist and the 2007 Juvenile National Champion.

Paul Wood

Parker Pennington: He placed 3rd at sectionals last season before placing 16th at nationals.  His best finish at nationals was in 2003 when he placed 6th.  He has a gold medal on the Junior Grand Prix from 2003, a silver and bronze from 2002, and two gold medals from 2001.  He is the 2001 Junior National Champion, the 2000 Junior National Silver Medalist, 1999 Junior National Bronze Medalist, and the 1998 Novice National Champion.

Justin Brachat

William Brewster: He placed 6th at sectionals last season.  He is the reigning Collegiate Bronze Medalist.  He is the 2005 Novice National Bronze Medalist, 2003 Intermediate National Champion and 2002 Juvenile National Champion.

Grant Hochstein: He placed 7th at nationals last season and placed 5th at the World Junior Championships.  He placed 10th at his Grand Prix debut at Skate Canada earlier this season.  He has a silver medal from the Junior Grand Prix in 2009.

Osadolo Irowa

Alexander Johnson: Johnson qualified with a 2nd place finish at Southwestern Regionals with a score of 184.60.  He placed 1st at sectionals last season and placed 17th at nationals.  He is the 2009 National Junior Bronze Medalist.  He has a gold and bronze medal from the Junior Grand Prix in 2008.  He is the 2007 Novice National Silver Medalist.

Christopher Darling: Darling qualified with a 4th place finish at Southwestern Regionals with a score of 151.25.

Roger Corvasce: Corvasce qualified with a 3rd place finish at Southwestern Regionals with a score of 155.34.

Chelsea Morrow

Alicia Hsu: Hsu qualified with a 1st place finish at Eastern Great Lakes Regionals with a score of 110.79.

Chelsea Christopher: Christopher qualified with a 2nd place finish at Eastern Great Lakes Regionals with a score of 100.92.

Amber Walczyk: Walczyk qualified with a 3rd place finish at Eastern Great Lakes Regionals with a score of 100.48.

Mikenzie Frost: Frost qualified with a 4th place finish at Eastern Great Lakes Regionals with a score of 94.01.

Morgan Bell: Bell qualified with a 4th place finish at Southwestern Regionals with a score of 113.84.

Tatyana Khazova: Khazova qualified with a 3rd place finish at Southwestern Regionals with a score of 114.74.

Samiera Abou-Nasr: Abou-Nasr qualified with a 1st place finish at Upper Great Lakes Regionals with a score of 113.39.

Christina-Maria Sperduto: Sperduto qualified with a 3rd place finish at Upper Great Lakes Regionals with a score of 110.25.

Kayla Grayson: Grayson qualified with a 2nd place finish at Upper Great Lakes Regionals with a score of 112.56.

Taylor Kulpa: Kulpa qualified with a 4th place finish at Upper Great Lakes Regionals with a score of 104.49.

Amy Nunn: Nunn qualified with a 6th place finish at the Southwestern Regionals (2nd place finisher Gilles has a bye due ot Grand Prix) with a score of 106.70.

Alissa Czisny: She placed 10th at nationals last season.  She won gold at Skate Canada earlier this season.  She has a silver medal on the Grand Prix in 2009, bronze in 2008, gold and silver in 2005.  She has two silver medals from the Junior Grand Prix in 2002. She is the 2009 National Champion, 2008 Collegiate Champion, 2007 National Bronze Medalist, 2004 Collegiate Champion, and 2001 Junior National Silver Medalist.

Katy Jo West: West qualified with a 5th place finish at the Southwestern Regionals (1st place finisher Zawadzki has a bye due to Grand Prix) with a score of 113.79.

Senior Dance (all qualify to nationals)
Alissandra Aronow/Zachary Donohue: Donohue placed 2nd at sectionals as a junior and won bronze at nationals with his former partner.  He also won bronze in 2009 and has three Junior Grand Prix medals.

Shannon Wingle/Timothy McKernan: They placed 10th at nationals last season.  They won the pewter medal at nationals as juniors in 2009.

Kseniya Ponomaryova/Raphael Kelling

Novice Ladies of note
Katia Shpilband: Shpilband qualified with a 2nd place finish at Eastern Great Lakes Regionals with a score of 101.44.  She is the reigning Intermediate National Champion.  Her father is famed ice dancing coach Igor Shpilband.

Andrea Poapst/Christopher Knierim: Knierim won the Novice National title and placed 2nd in Juniors with his former partner.

Junior ladies of note
Gracie Gold: Gold qualified with a 1st place finish at Upper Great Lakes Regionals with a score of 140.81.  She won the pewter medal at nationals as a novice last season.

Ashley Cain: She placed 2nd at sectionals and nationals last season as a novice.  She won sectionals and nationals in novice pairs last season.  She and Joshua Reagan placed 6th and 2nd at their two Junior Grand Prix assignments and qualify for the Junior Grand Prix Final.

Nina Jiang: Jiang qualified with a 4th place finish at Southwestern Regionals with a score of 115.86.  She placed 3rd at sectionals as a junior last season and placed 5th at nationals.  She placed 5th at her Junior Grand Prix debut earlier this season.  She is the 2008 Intermediate National Champion and the 2007 Juvenile National Champion.

Junior dance of note
Anastasia Olson/Jordan Cowan: They finished 2nd as juniors at the Pacific Coast Sectional last season and placed 5th at nationals.  They finished 8th and 6th at their Junior Grand Prix events earlier this season.  They are the 2009 Novice National Silver Medalists.

Alexandra Aldridge/Daniel Eaton: They won sectionals as novices last season and are the reigning Novice National Champions.  They finished 6th and 4th at their two Junior Grand Prix events earlier this season.
